NTN Proudly Announces IATF 16949:2016 Certification

Mt. Prospect, IL – NTN is proud to announce that NTN Manufacturing de México, SA de CV, in Aguascalientes, México, has achieved the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) 16949:2016 certification. The Quality Management Systems (QMS) at the facility were assessed by NSF International Strategic Registrations (NSF-ISR) and were determined to be in conformance with the standards of IATF 16949:2016 for the design and manufacturing of HUB bearings and constant velocity joints.

This certification is a significant achievement for this NTN manufacturing facility as it signifies the successful implementation of a QMS that provides for continual improvement, emphasizes defect prevention, includes specific requirements for the automotive industry, and promotes reduction of variation and waste in the supply chain. This is the first of NTN’s North American facilities to achieve this stringent standard, and we plan for all of our North American automotive manufacturing facilities to achieve this standard by mid-September 2018.

Representing an evolution for quality management in the automotive industry, IATF 16949:2016 was launched in October 2016 to supersede and replace ISO/TS 16949.
